Terms and Conditions
LEGEX LLP · Effective date: August 7, 2026
These terms govern your use of the LEGEX LLP website (legex.ca) and the software applications operated by LEGEX LLP, including our secure client portal and our internal practice-management application (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these terms. LEGEX LLP is an immigration and refugee law firm located at 16 Four Seasons Place, Suite 205, Etobicoke, Ontario M9B 6E5, Canada.
1. Website information is not legal advice
Content on legex.ca is general information about Canadian immigration and refugee law. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not create a solicitor–client relationship with LEGEX LLP. A solicitor–client relationship is formed only through a signed retainer agreement with our firm. Please do not send confidential details through the public website before we have confirmed we can act for you.
2. Internal applications — licence and permitted users
The LEGEX practice-management application (the “LEGEX CRM”) is proprietary software operated by LEGEX LLP solely for its own internal business. It is not distributed to, or licensed for use by, the public. Access is limited to:
- Authorized LEGEX LLP personnel, who may use the application only for firm business, under individual accounts, and in accordance with the firm’s confidentiality and professional obligations; and
- Clients of the firm, who may use the secure client portal only to view and exchange materials relating to their own matter.
Any access is a limited, revocable, non-transferable permission to use the Services as provided. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or their data.
3. Accounts and acceptable use
- Keep your sign-in credentials confidential and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized use;
- Provide information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge;
- Do not use the Services to violate any law, infringe any rights, or introduce malicious software;
- Do not interfere with the operation or security of the Services.
We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms or threatens the security of client information.
4. Third-party services
The Services operate using reputable third-party platforms, including Google (Firebase) for secure hosting, Microsoft 365 for firm email and calendaring, and Intuit QuickBooks Online for the firm’s accounting. Use of those platforms is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. How personal information is handled across these systems is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Intellectual property
The Services, including all site content, branding, and software, are owned by LEGEX LLP or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and print website content for personal, non-commercial reference. No other rights are granted.
6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The website and applications are provided “as is” and “as available.” While we work to keep the Services accurate, secure, and available, we do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LEGEX LLP is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the website or applications. Nothing in these terms limits our professional responsibilities to our clients under our retainer agreements and the rules of the Law Society of Ontario.
7. Changes to the Services or these terms
We may modify the Services or update these terms from time to time. The effective date above shows when the terms were last revised. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
